I heard the cries, the sounds of a desperately frightened animal. Over and over again, it cried out in panic.
Stepping off my porch, I walked a few feet to determine the direction of the sounds and then I saw it. Head held high, searching eyes darted to and fro, as the beautiful fawn cried out for his mother. He stomped his foot
one, then the other, ran wildly then stopped and continued the pattern.
I saw no predator in pursuit of the fawn, finally deciding that for some reason, he simply wandered a little too far from mom and panicked when he couldnt see her. Just as quickly as the commotion started, it ended. The fawn disappeared into the edge of the woods. Silence filtrated the early morning.
I thought of the parallel between the fawn and my own life. I have known the panic in the pit of my stomach when I felt I had been separated from the presence of God. The times when my prayers seemed to drop on deaf ears. I knew in my heart it wasnt so, yet I ran as the fawn to and fro, crying out for help, asking others to pray for me, when help was already available.
There is nothing wrong with asking for prayer. We are to pray for one another, but there are times, when we must place our faith in God knowing he does hear, and will answer our prayer. Its time to move up a level from the Milk of the Word to the Meat of the Word.
Satan once again deceived me. I placed my eyes on the situation and listened to his lying tongue, becoming caught up in fear. Wheres the meat?
Jesus once asked his disciples, Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? Mark 4:40. KJV His disciples had been with him, seen miracles, yet they still had fear and doubt.
Just as the disciples, we so easily lose sight of the truth. That is why it is so important to allow the Word of God to take root and grow in our hearts; and the only way to do that is to spend time studying the Word.
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers
did you hear that? Please read it again. His ears are open. He hears you when you pray. But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? I Peter 3:12-14. KJV
Friends, repeat after me
..I Will Not Fear Amen?
So you see, we must always be alert to the wiles of Satan, putting on the Armour of God, which is the Word. Then we can quench the fiery darts of the enemy. We dont have to panic at every situation that comes our way.
